A Proposal

Profanity and shit contained in this post. You have been warned.

I'd like to ask the female community and the gay community a question: What do you think about transforming the words 'cunt' and 'faggot' into racial slurs against white people instead?

We, the people, kinda need something more effective than "cracker" and "honky".

Oh snap, I just harkened back to the days when that fucker owned land and slaves and kept women and minorities socially oppressed. That'll ruin his day, darn tootin'!

You know me. I have a lot of rage in me and it needs an outlet.

So, all my readers, if you fall into either one of those communities or know someone who does, give me your feedback on this proposal. I understand if you feel like this isn't going to help 'equalize things' but that's not the point. In fact, I'm not even asking for your approval, I just want you to know what I'm doing when you might see me use either of those curses in the future.

  1. Can we not just drop racial slurs? Or homophobic ones for that matter? Still, I try not to see anything wrong with the word faggot, but it's our word. Get your own. I like "cracker", I say keep that. I think you just need an Asian on white slur, cracker only really sounds good when said by a black person to me. I don't think I've ever actually heard an Asian call someone a cracker. But I suppose if you want to use the word like that then you can. Nothing is stopping you. It's not like the internet asked the gay community if they could use the words "gay" and "faggot" to mean anything of bad quality or just pretty much anyone.

    1. Nope, racial/homophobic slurs aren't going anywhere for a while. IN THE MEANTIME I'm going to co-opt them.

It's too bad and you can pretend all you want but in the U.S. slang lexicon faggot only has one meaning. The homophobic one. 'Cigs' and 'smokes' only, over here.

Cracker is a shitty slur. You know why they call you cracker? Because that's the sound your whip made when you 'motivated' them to work harder. Yeah, sure, really hurts your feelings, huh?

I don't know what you mean by 'Asian on white' slur. Is there a 'white on Asian' slur that other ethnicities don't use?

You're right, the pejorative uses of gay and faggot continue to demonstrate the simmering hatred of homosexuals in our society.

This being the case, I think it should be most effective indeed to call a white man either of the two things he has most hated throughout history: a woman or a homosexual.

    2. I think what he means by Asian on White is much like how Cracker is predominantly for Black on White. You nor I can really call a White guy "cracker" because we were never cracked at.

I still get your point though.

    3. Well they are words, anyone can use them for anything. I didn't know that's where cracker came from though, that is a shitty racial slur indeed. The only way that would actually work is if it made us feel guilty, and to be honest I don't. I can't control what the people before me did, so I can't feel guilty about it. But that's a whole other issue entirely. The worst things you can call a white man is indeed a woman, or a homosexual, but "cunt" doesn't really say "I'm calling you a woman." Most people see cunt as the worst word you can say to someone. If you want to call them a woman then just call them a woman or imply they are one. Feel free to call them faggots though. It's only online where that means pretty much everyone and to most of the internet it still means a homosexual. So you're good.

    4. @D4: Ah I get what he's saying. Then I guess us Asians don't really have anything to use at all except for the mildly humorous "gwailou" and that isn't 'good' enough.

@Mark: You shouldn't feel 'guilty', though there is plenty of white guilt around, still. Nevertheless, I have said before that I believe the sins of the father are not the sins of the son.

No, it doesn't mean I'm actually calling them women. I don't think you're understanding the figurative spirit of name-calling.

Online, on 4chan in particular, 'X-fag' is different from 'faggot'. No one says 'new-faggot'. To all of America here, faggot means homosexual, and nothing else.

I can't understand your blog though, sorry. (;_;)

  4. "Gay" has almost become a curse. I hear people say all the time "Ah that's gay"

    1. You are pretty late to the party then. 'Gay' has been pejorative since I was in elementary school. It's not a curse by any stretch though.

  5. I personally don't like the use of slurs against anyone but I understand what you mean.

    1. That's good. I don't go out spewing hatred either, but I need to let it out somewhere.
