Battlestation Components (3)

The last components to show you for now. Still waiting on a good SSD sale. I'm not one of those iProduct buy-a-new-one-every-three-months kind of guys. I plan to pilot this battlestation for a while so I'm going to get exactly what I want to put in it. No substitutes.

Battlestation Components (2)

You remember this guy, huh?
Speaking of things that could only store one game, does anyone remember those demo discs that came with issues of PC Gamer magazine? You know, those CDs that had game demos on 'em? The first discs I have (I'll post a pic if I can find where I put the stash) contain at least 10 demos on them. That's 10 different games you can sample! Then over the years you can see the number of games per disc shrink as the game files get bigger. You can only fit so much data on a damn CD, eh? The latest one I have has only 4 games on it, 5 tops, if I recall. I'm pretty sure they simply stopped issuing demo discs before they ended up with only one game to try out. These days I'm pretty sure you can just download any game demos you wish from their website. But then, do people still play demos even? I sure don't. I just read the reviews from other people who play the game and decide if I'm going to buy the full thing based on the consensus.

Shiny! Sparkly!

Check out my new stethoscope!

Littmann Classic II S.E.
But, more importantly, look at what I had engraved in the chestpiece.

♫Pooh Bear, Winnie the Pooooh Bear♫

D-girl loves Winnie the Pooh. Loves.

One night I was bored and D-girl had work to do. So I had to amuse myself.

Enjoy. For best results, click on the first one and use Blogger's built-in slideshow.

Energy Drinks

I used to be a serious energy drink junkie. Amp, Rockstar, Monster, Red Bull, Nos, 5-Hour Energy, I had everything. Taurine and guarana chemical concoctions.
On the other hand, I don't care for coffee.
╮(╯_╰)╭

5-hour Energy and its knock-off cousins.

Later in the semester. I don't even fit in the frame anymore!
And then one fateful day I attended a Rally for Life event at which Rockstar was giving away cans of their sweet nectar. I took about 15 cans. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem at all. AT ALL. But it happened to fall at the end of the semester. My demand for energy drinks plummeted and the cans sat for months. By which time they expired. I drank one and the hold was broken. I haven't had a bullet can of any kind since. On the other hand, I do carry an emergency bottle of 5-Hour on me at all times.

Now I'm Craving Some Noodles. Again.

One more pic from the Festival.

The spoon was unnecessary.
If I recall, that look of disdain on my face is because a friend of mine broke my sliced egg.

I want one of these.

Eating A Crepe

Check out them Transition lenses.
In other news, I found out it's illegal for companies in the U.S. to sell corrective lenses (i.e. glasses, contacts) without a proper prescription. Makes sense. You shouldn't skimp on things like this.

I'm thinking of getting a new pair of glasses. I'm wearing the 4th pair at the moment and these are fairly old and worn. In fact, they're kinda crooked on my face.

Caught Unawares

Surprise picture taken by S-girl.
I believe I was eating corn Chex. Corn cereal has a pleasant smell in milk. Nothing smells quite like it.

More Eats

Here's another picture from that day. It was the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C., in case you were wondering why all the Japanese foods.

There's a scoop of green tea flavor on top of a scoop of mango flavor ice cream, all in between a mini-pineapple.
Also D-girl in the middle and Z-girl on the right. She seems slightly pleased.

Scars

I got this first one being stupid.
Actually, that applies to all of these... (◎◎▂)
===========================

I was boiling some nice chicken stock when I decided to lift the lid and check on things. A poof of steam came out and scalded the anterior side of my forearm. I ran cold water over it and it became an angry red. Initially I thought that was it and I went back to playing BioShock. A little while later I noticed it had started to blister. I wrapped with sterile gauze and over the course of a day or so it turned into a single large blister as plasma leaked from the damaged cells. It's faded a great deal since then.

Meanwhile, here's a picture of me eating something.

Head first. Natch.

The Final: Featuring Pictures That Aren't Blurry!

So then, today, this most unusual leap day, marks the final post for GF-topic month. I'll probably mention her again so this really doesn't mean all that much but this is the last post in the multi-week continuous streak of GF-related material.

For your viewing pleasure, here, at last, is a picture (not blurry!) of me with S-girl.

Previous Mentions

It turns out I have uploaded a photo of S-girl before. Of sorts. Way back last year, when the blog was still in its infancy, I mentioned her in two posts.

July 8, 2011.
July 9, 2011.

REPOST.

I won't lie, that thunderstorm experience probably went a long way towards making S-girl fall in love with me. She'd never considered watching a massive lightning storm in a heavy rain from the top of a parking garage at night. Imagine that! ╮(╯ヮ╰)╭
It was that kind of thing that really got her stuck on me. Taking her on adventures she might never even have thought to go on.

It remains one of the most unique and romantic things I've ever done in my life.

Sometimes Boyfriend

Although S-girl spent most of her time overlooking my flaws I am aware that I had them.

Without false pride, I will say that when put my mind to undertaking a task I have enough skill to be able to do that thing at least adequately with practice. But you know me. When asked I'll probably assert my prowess with a bit more bravado than quite warranted. (^^|||)7

The one exception would be relationships. With a full comprehension of my own personality, I will admit straight out that I am not really good boyfriend material.

I can be sweet, tender, loving, attentive, and other such good words... but only when I want to be. You might be thinking, "Well, that's not unusual. I can be all those things, too, if I want to be." Well, good for you, but if you have a sig. o. I hope you want to be those things on a relatively stable schedule for her sake.

Speaking of Hand-made Gifts (The best kind)

A swan I made for S-girl.

It's not technically 'origami' since 3D modular papercrafting is a Chinese style but the word 'origami' as a word in the English lexicon doesn't really mean strictly Japanese paperfolding anymore anyway.
If you're interested just Google '3d modular swan' and you'll find instructions.

A little something I made for S-girl on Valentine's Day way back when.

A Valentine's Day Present

I haven't told you guys much about us yet, but I just so happen to have recalled one occasion when I played the part of sweet loving boyfriend.

By the way, it fills me with joy to realize that I've posted enough such that I can't perfectly recall whether I've mentioned this or not: I don't put much stock in celebrating holidays. That includes birthdays (including my own) and especially those artificial Hallmark holidays like Mother's Day and Father's Day. (Some reputedly count Valentine's Day among them.)

But, since girls are sappy and Valentine's is one of those romantic days in the year, I made the sacrifice and did something cute for her.

I made her a papercraft Pokéball.

Incidentally, that isn't my hand, Pokéball, nor photo. It turns out I neglected to take one when I made it but this person used the same design template that I did so it serves as an appropriate substitute.

Just when she'd resigned herself to not getting anything I pulled this out and handed it to her saying, "I choose you ♥." The ♥ represents a smooch.

Hahaha, I'm good sometimes, aren't I? If the papercraft was a little more sturdy I would have asked her to close her eyes before yelling, "I CHOOSE YOU!!!" and bouncing it off her head. That's romantic, right? Right? (⊙◡⊙)-b
