Prequel Dream to Dream 2014/12/4

So first, the prequel dream. No date on it because I can't remember when I had it. I am amazed I didn't write it down and/or post it the day after. And now I'm paying for that mistake. I have forgotten some major details by now, I tell you. Actually the forgetting was a bit useful in a way because that's what made me think about it again, which in turn prompted me to have a related dream that night and to make this post now. Silver linings, I 'spose?

More Eats

Here's another picture from that day. It was the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C., in case you were wondering why all the Japanese foods.

There's a scoop of green tea flavor on top of a scoop of mango flavor ice cream, all in between a mini-pineapple.
Also D-girl in the middle and Z-girl on the right. She seems slightly pleased.

I Look Like This

In the interest of fairness to Z-girl, who looks like this:

I present a cartoonized image that looks like me!

The T-shirt has the character for  Knowledge. The line reads something like "I'm always logical/reasonable/justified".

Upcoming Matrix Trilogy Discourse

By the way, I'd first like to reassure you guys that I haven't forgotten my intention to do a watch-along of the Infernal Affairs trilogy [2002-2003] and a comparison review of The Departed [2006], nor has my rage concerning the latter diminished in the slightest. Just so's ya know.
=============================

Recently, I was FB chatting with a friend about something or other when the topic of The Matrix came up. Oh, wait, I remember. I happened to be watching part of the Animatrix, "World Record" at the time.

You know how I'm filled with boundless rage when it comes to some things like stupidity, ignorance, racism and bad storytelling? Well, when it comes to The Matrix an opposite reaction occurs. You must understand that when I say, "I love the Matrix" this is a massive understatement. The Matrix is one of the foremost reasons why I am glad to have lived beyond the 90s. Not that I'm suicidal, quite the opposite, in fact. While I firmly believe that decade to have been one of the greatest in the history of movie and television pop culture, The Matrix restored my faith in a future that could hold new wonders. Never before had such deep philosophical material been presented in such... palatable form for the masses.

And yet. There were those who saw it as nothing more than what it might seem: an action movie. An exercise in cutting-edge special FX. Or some who just missed the point altogether. My friend in question- you know what?
I have yet to give her an alias, despite having mentioned her on several occasions! Drumroll please. Henceforth she shall be known as Z-girl. So shall it be. <( ̄_ ̄)>

Remember this?
She said she remembered it mostly being about "man vs machine". Oh, dear. Ya know, it is very strange. I've told you before about how she has some kind of immunity to making me angry. Well, the glasses thing made me annoyed but this incident almost tipped me over the edge. Good thing we were only FB chatting so I had an opportunity to filter my response hahahaha. I believe I still got out something like, "You want Man vs. Machine? Go watch Terminator!!" or some such. In person there would have been expletives. Name calling. And other inflammatory remarks.

So, yeah. Look forward to it, guys. If you didn't like The Matrix or thought it was dumb, go die in a fire. Cheers!

Glasses

I've gone through a lot of glasses in my time. Honestly, I'm not as careful with them as I should be, mostly because my eyesight is good enough that I don't need them to get through a day, especially now that I don't have classes in front of a blackboard anymore.

The 1st pair
Gold, wire-rimmed. Mom insisted on the gold color because she claimed black made glasses too prominent on the face. Personally, I think gold is more attention-attracting than simple black, in addition to looking much more nerdy. And round frames?! (___- -) I haven't gotten light-colored frames since.

They looked like this. I don't have the actual pair anymore.

The 2nd pair
The frame is called Modern Todd. Black, wire frame. Basically the complete opposite of the 1st pair. These are pretty unremarkable glasses with a nice and simple look.

The 3rd pair
I don't have this one to show you guys. At some point I actually stepped on them and completely destroyed this pair. The most damage I've ever done to any set I've owned. They looked similar to the 2nd pair but the height of the lens was about 1/4 shorter.

The 4th pair
Same frame as the 2nd, different prescription.

The 5th pair
I picked these up soon after I got the 4th pair, same prescription. Blue and black, metal. Polycarbonate lens, Transitions even! These are my 2nd favorite glasses and one of the nicest I've had.  Super light and the first to have my preferred design: half-rimmed.

Transition lenses!

You might notice the left lens is missing in that top picture. I lost it on the dance floor of the Spanish Galleon last year. It's actually a miracle I found them again at all, haha. Somehow, a friend saw them on the crowded floor and said, "Hey, those look familiar" and retrieved them for me. After that I went back to the 4th pair for a while.

The 6th pair
By far my favorite pair, right here. Half-rimmed, of course. Lightweight. Beautifully stylish brown and translucent green plastic. Polycarbonate lenses. Nike.

You see the side I'm holding? That side won't bend because I had to super glue it to reattach it.
(- -__|||) Man, I'd only had this pair for a little while and I took care of them, too. But this time, it wasn't me. It was a friend who broke them.... \(>.<)/ Oh, I've only told you about this one in passing. That will come later. I'll just say this: If it had been anyone else, any one other person I would have gotten mad. But in this case, I just got annoyed. Really annoyed.

Now though, when I see them they remind me of her. Haha. Imagine that.

A Scary Zombie Dream

She actually really kinda looks like this.
So I had a nice scary dream Sunday. We were in a massive dimly lit room and zombies were hiding around the place. As always, I could fly. And surprise surprise, wonder of wonders, joy of joys! One of my friends was there, too. (My wonder and joy would fade as the events unfolded but the surprise stayed. You'll see...) We had to look for a place to make our stand or hide. The zombies weren't "allowed" to attack us until after a certain period of time had passed, though I can't explain how I knew that. At one point I flew up to the top of a tree but a zombie perched in the branches hissed at me and shooed me away to find my own hiding spot. Perhaps most oddly, a quilted blanket covered the entire floor. Some zombies weren't very good at hiding, the lump of their bodies could clearly be seen. We couldn't find a hiding spot and time was running out. I ended up near the wall where I could see a zombie sitting under the edge of the quilt. The truce period ended and I preemptively punched it in the head but it didn't 'die' like it was 'supposed' to. Head-shots are one-hit kills damn it. What a cheat.

Anyway, we scramble back and take off but my friend here, she doesn't feel like flying. Instead she sort of drifted into the air and floated along. Her momentum didn't disappear though. Might I say, she was being a real... drag? nyuk nyuk nyuk (≥ヮ≤) I had to tugboat her along when a zombie comes at us from the opposite direction. Still didn't feel like flying though and she drifted steadily towards it. You ever play that game Asteroids? Sort of like that. Impending collision. Sadly (for me), she wouldn't let go either, though. It bit her leg and then, being the awwwwesome buuuuddy that she is, she tries to bite me, too. AND SHE WASN'T EVEN TURNED YET!! What a wanker, I tell you what.

"Sharing is caring!!!" (fOmo)f...~~~(____ ¬ ¬)
No, wait, it looked more like: (Fºuº)F...~~~(____ ¬ ¬)

And then, her hesitance to fly just disappears, o joy, eh? And some cool flying ensues before I get caught. Damn it. What a good friend I made her, subconsciously, eh? (^____^;;)7
